The CrossFit Open is a worldwide CrossFit competition. We do it every year. It’s fun.
At CutThroat, we do the CrossFit Open a bit differently. This is the CutThroat Intramural Open (Read more about it here)
We already drafted our Captains (Jeanne and Josh). The draft is happening this week!
The Captains’ job is to get you to register for the Open, and experience the benefit of annual friendly group competition.
The full course is a 5-week program beginning Sunday January 21st, at 3:00PM.
Each week, we’ll host a clinic to focus on a skill you’ll (probably) see in the Open: double-unders, toes-to-bar, pull-ups, ring dips, etc. Then we’ll perform a workout based on that skill similar to an open WOD, so you can get a taste of what collaborative competition is really like.
Between classes, you’ll be given some basic homework to complete around the WODs that you’re already attending, or even on your own at home.
There will be a private classroom for members of the course where you’ll find:
- The weekly homework
- Watch instructional videos from our coaches and other experts
- Get nutritional guidance for competition
- Special strategies for each open WOD just for you!
We’re also going to include our 2018 Intramural Open T-Shirt with the Course.
Our goals at CutThroat: to educate and inspire. Competition helps with the ‘inspire’ part: the pressure to perform pushes you to train harder; the social boost of dozens of your best friends cheering for you will help you reach a higher plane. Heck, watching your teammates GO is inspiring.
Can we bring that worldwide thrill home? Can we deliver all the fun of competition without causing any anxiety attacks? We think so.
If you don’t sign up for the course you can register separately for each of the skills clinics. You just won’t get the online course, homework and you’ll have to buy the shirt separately.
And can we push you to higher levels of fitness doing so? Absolutely.
