Event 3 Is “Chippin’ Away”


Standards

Sprint

-Takes place outside on pavement

Hops over PVC

-Jump and land with two feet over PVC pipe on floor

Single-Unders

-Rope passes completely under the feet one time for each jump

Double-Unders

-Rope passes completely under the feet two times for each jump

-Only successful jumps are counted, not attempts

Power Snatch

-The barbell begins on the ground and must be lifted overhead in one motion

-At the top, the barbell must come to full lockout overhead, with hips, knees and arms fully extended and the bar directly over or slightly behind the middle of the body

Kids division, the movement starts with the PVC in a hang position

Plate ground to overhead

-Plate is lifted from the floor and must come to full lockout overhead, with the athlete’s hips, knees and arms fully extended and the plate directly over the middle of the body

-Plate must touch the floor between each repetition

Box overs

-The athlete moves up and over the box any way they choose, as long as at least one part of their foot touches the box

-There is no requirement to stand tall while on the top of the box

-The rep will be counted when both of the athlete’s feet touch the ground on the other side of the box

-Any part of the hand touching the box will result in a “no rep”

Pull-ups

-Any variation (dead hang, kipping, butterfly, chin-ups)

-The chin must break the horizontal plane of the bar at the top

*If the athlete is unable to perform pull-ups, they may scale to 20 jumping pull-ups

 

Scaling (modifying)

-Allows the athlete to complete the workout by altering the weights and movements to their individual ability level

-Scaled workouts will be ranked lower than workouts that are completed as written
